Who We Are

The Boston Comics Roundtable was started because I had a hard time finding other comics creators in Boston. As we gradually stumbled across each other, one by one, we were amazed to discover - despite our firm beliefs - that we were not working in utter isolation. In truth, there are many of us, and it only seems natural that we should meet up and take over a small cafe once a week.

The Roundtable is relatively new, so we're flexible. Who are we? Well... who do you want us to be? Here's the ideas we've had so far:

*

Workshopping - First and foremost, people seem interested in finding out what others think of their work. To address this, a portion of the meeting is devoted to workshopping new material. Whether its a script, boards, sketches, or just ideas, this a great opportunity to get feedback. Don't want to bring your work in? Don't have any work? No problem. Just listen and contribute your thoughts.

Show and Tell - Kindergarten skills continue to find use in the real world. Show us what you're reading right now. It's also a great chance to trade and borrow books.

Professional Development - What you know might save someone who doesn't time and money. What you learn might save you the same. Working as a group, we can share knowledge and pool resources. Everybody's got ideas. This is a great place to share them.

Shoot the Shit - We all like comics. Let's have some coffee and talk about it.

If this sounds interesting to you, or if you think we're going about this all wrong, come on by your next free Thursday and meet us, or contact us at admin @ bostoncomicsroundtable.com.
